Isle of Skye. Hasselblad 45mm. June 2007.
The Old Man of Storr stands dominant overlooking The Sound of Raasay on Skye’s east coast. This remarkable piece of rock architecture is the result of numerous landslides thought to have occurred approximately six and a half thousand years ago. On this morning, thanks to the exceptional air clarity, I was able to discern many recognisable peaks from Ben Nevis in the south all the way north to the unmistakeable mountains of Coigach and beyond – a total distance of over 75 miles.
