The Three Sisters

Glen Coe. Hasselblad 30mm. May 2009.

The imposing triple buttress of Beinn Fhada, Gearr Aonach and Aonach Dudh collectively known as ‘The Three Sisters’ forms a major part of Glen Coe’s southern aspect. To show the full depth and majesty of these giant volcanic spurs, I wanted to gain as much altitude as possible. My third attempt to achieve this image coincided with an unseasonal cold spell that brought an overnight dusting of Spring snow to the highest summits.
