Loch Druidibeag
South Uist. Hasselblad 45mm. May 2010.
The Loch Druidibeag Nature Reserve covers an area of roughly 1700 hectares, this relatively small area is home to a surprisingly large variety of habitats from the coastal marine environment to moorland mountains. As a result, this strong diversity is home to many nationally important flowering plants, woodland and wildlife. Because of this it is now recognised as a Site of Special Scientific Interest and was designated an UNESCO biosphere reserve in 1976.
