The Summer Isles

Photographed here from the summit of Ben Mor Coigach, the Summer Isles is a compact group of twenty or so islands and skerries spread over thirty square miles. The largest, Tanera Mòr, is now officially uninhabited. It is thought to be the inspiration for the fictional pagan island of ‘Summerisle’ in the 1973 cult horror film The Wicker Man.
