Canisp and Suilven
Assynt. Hasselblad 45mm. May 2014.
The mountains of Assynt are fashioned from the oldest strata found in Britain, some three thousand million years old. Although not eminent in height the separated individual peaks of Canisp and Suilven contain more character than most. Viewed here from the shores of Loch Druim Suardalain I waited patiently for the Sun to drop below the persistent cloud canopy before flooding this ancient landscape in some fine evening light.
