Loch Etive, Inverliver Bay

Argyll and Bute. Hasselblad 45mm. February 2009.

Loch Etive Stretches a total distance of 27 km (17 miles) inland from the open seas of the Firth of Lorn. It has to be one of Scotland’s most beautiful lochs, despite this however, the vast majority of its waters remain hidden from most due to the lack of road access into the area. For this photograph I positioned myself approximately halfway down the loch on the summit of a small hill. I waited for the Sun to drop and clear a cloudbank, illuminating the landscape with warm evening light. The isolated farmhouse in the bottom right helps illustrate the vastness of this landscape.
