Glen Lonan

Argyll. Hasselblad XPan 45mm. November 2017.

The often bypassed Glen Lonan is a wonderfully quiet place, this low-lying, fertile corner of Argyll is rich in history and archaeological sites. The single track road that runs its length is known as the 'Road of the Kings'. According to legend, its course was used by funeral processions carrying the bodies of Scotland’s ancient kings from Scone Palace to Iona Abbey, their final resting place.
