Caledonian Pine
Victoria Bridge. Hasselblad 90mm. November 2009.
This image epitomises much that is best about the Highlands. The magnificent solitary Caledonian Pine is emblematic of the sweeping woodland that once dominated the Scottish landscape. I had been planning this composition for some time and was fortunate to find a pair of stags silhouetted on the horizon as the sun set in the west.
