Abhainn Shira
Bridge of Orchy. Hasselblad 45mm. November 2009.
Collectively known as The Great Wall of Rannoch, Beinn Achaladair, Beinn an Dothaidh and Beinn Dorain act as a gateway to the wilderness of Rannoch Moor and beyond to Glen Coe. On a perfect Winter’s afternoon, I made my way along the banks of Abhainn Shira searching for the position I had identified months before. I set my camera and tripod up on the banks and waited for the Sun to drop. As the warm evening light began to flood the landscape I used a slow shutter speed to soften the torrent of water as it flowed past my feet.
