Skye and the Inner Sound.
Applecross. Hasselblad XPam 90mm. March 2017.
Although this spot is easily accessed from the high-level road that crosses the Applecross peninsula it was perhaps one of the more dangerous places I've been for a photograph. It's always windy here and the only shelter I could find was next to a small shed at the foot of the massive transmitter mast that crowns Sgurr a' Chaorachain. The rime ice that had accumulated on the structure was being dislodged by the strong northerly and falling all around me in an alarmingly random fashion. I stood back and waited in the freezing wind until the sun was low in the sky before moving back to my final position for the image with one eye on the scene and the other on the mast towering above me.
