The Sound of Taransay
Isle of Harris. Hasselblad 45mm. August 2012.
After eight hours of travelling and a stiff 2000 foot climb I suddenly found myself with one of the most spectacular summit panoramas in Scotland. High above the Sound of Taransay I was able to easily identify each of the pristine beaches that the west coast of Harris is renowned for. Not only that, but thanks to the superb visibility I was also able to clearly see the isolated archipelago of St Kilda, Boreary and the Stacs over 60 miles to the west.
