The Sound of Taransay

Isle of Harris. Hasselblad 45mm. August 2012.

Tiorga Mòr in North Harris has one of the most spectacular summit panoramas in Scotland. From high above the Sound of Taransay it is possible to identify each of the pristine beaches that the coast here is renowned for. Not only that, thanks to the superb visibility I was also able to clearly see the isolated archipelago of St Kilda, Boreray and the Stacs over sixty miles away, far out to the west.
