Loch Quoich
Lochaber. Hasselblad 30mm. November 2008.
Loch Quoich stretches eight and a half miles straight into the heart of the rough bounds of Knoydart. Because of the huge natural rainfall catchment in this area the loch was dammed in 1956 and used as the main storage reservoir for the Garry Hydro Scheme. The waters were forced upwards of over one hundred feet displacing a number of settlements and creating a completely new shoreline within this land of mountain and flood.
