The Birks of Aberfeldy
Perthshire. October 2005.
After a night of particularly heavy rain, the swollen waters of the Moness Burn cut relentlessly through the steeply wooded glen known as the Birks of Aberfeldy. At the very end of October, when the autumn colours are at their height, I found a flat section of this famous river and waited for the sun to light the canopy of golden foliage above.
