Kinclaven Wood, Perthshire. Hasselblad XPan 45mm. May 2016.
The ancient woodland around Kinclaven is predominantly mature oak with a mix of birch, Scots pine, and huge veteran beech trees, some of which date back to the eighteenth century. Together they form an important natural habitat for many species of flora and fauna, but it is the native Scottish bluebell that briefly reigns supreme, their distinctive colour and scent usually peaking around mid-May.
